We also work with local governments in helping to pass laws that promote accountability for physicians and pharmacist in the prescribing of addictive drugs. Family members and addiction: Why can't they just say no?
When addiction strikes a family member, the whole family system is affected. Finding solutions can be a trying, gut-wrenching ordeal, testing the best of families.
They can't say NO, because their brain has been altered, and does not process anything, the way a abstaining individual does. This is a fact. More than sheer will is needed.
